Our Mission

North Mecklenburg Community Chrous Inc. is a non-profit organization with a vision for the future, and a mission to build a dynamic and inclusive choral community so that more people are transformed by the beauty and power of choral singing in the North Charlotte and Lake Norman area.

Inspired by Mrs. Belle Banks (the founder of North Meck Community Chorus) NMCC Inc. is committed to continue her legacy in service to, and enrichment of, the arts community.

At a time when music programs are being cut from schools due to economic constraints, NMCC Inc.'s goal of bringing joy through music becomes even more relevant than ever.

NMCC Inc. is an umbrella organization that wishes to bring more singing opportunities for the community in the Lake Norman area.

The NMCC Jazz Ensemble is a small group of committed singers who perform tight jazzy harmony.  A true, pleasing "ensemble sound" of balanced chords and precision phrasing is the hallmark of the group.  

For the first time in the fall of 2011, the Main Chorus of NMCC Inc. opened its doors as a non-profit organization.

The music is secular in nature except for some traditional Christmas numbers. The group is open to those of all backgrounds.

There will be an emphasis on "fun" music that anyone would enjoy performing or listening to.
